Outreach Efforts
The SMART Initiative aims to provide numerous services to local and state leaders as part of the Fostering Outreach and Engagement pillar of the University of Tennessee’s Strategic Plan.
As a part of the Institute for Public Service, the SMART Initiative plans to empower communities to implement and maintain prevention, treatment and recovery-related programs. Future program goals include providing:
- Community technical assistance
- Local and regional workshops
- Policy forums
- Grant writing and mentoring
- Program implementation and evaluation
